The nephrology team is comprised of four nephrologists. The dialysis center is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. and Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and is reserved for medical emergencies during the day and at night.

The nephrology service offers patients:

  • Nephrology consultations every day of the week
  • Follow-up consultation for kidney transplant
  • A day clinic for outpatients
  • A hemodialysis center
  • A medicalized dialysis department
  • A peritoneal dialysis department

The dialysis service is based on a medical-surgical organizational structure comprising a high-performance technology platform:

  • Imaging: next generation CT scanner, MRI.
  • Cardiology: inpatient service with intensive care departments, cardiac and vascular interventional radiology department, heart surgery.
  • Resuscitation service.
  • Interventional radiology for dilation of arteriovenous fistulas.
  • Vascular access surgery (creation of arteriovenous fistulas).

Designed to welcome all dialysis patients, the hemodialysis center, which is located on the 6th floor of the clinic, provides all current dialysis techniques. The goal of the center is to provide personalized care with a high standard for care, privacy, safety and quality. The hemodialysis center is equipped with high-tech dialysis generators and a latest generation water treatment system with heat sterilization that delivers ultra-pure water. The center offers patients dialysis sessions in private or shared rooms (21 beds, 1 of which is reserved for emergencies). Each bed has a flat-screen television with headphones, as well as wifi. A hot meal is served in bed. These sessions can be either conventional hemodialysis sessions or, depending on the case, hemodiafiltration. A nephrologist and one nurse per four patients are always present, and the rooms are monitored remotely by camera from the nursing station. During their dialysis session, patients benefit from massage-physical therapy services and electrotherapy. They receive dietary advice from a nutritionist. They can always speak with a psychologist if they wish. In addition to the dialysis sessions, patients also have the opportunity to attend treatment education sessions to better understand terminal kidney disease and its challenges. The quality of the equipment and patient comfort have made the Ambroise Paré SMC a reference center.
