Lung cancer is the third most common cancer in France, and affects 45,000 new people each year. It is often linked to tobacco use, and medical and surgical progress in recent years has enabled us to better care for and cure patients with this cancer.

The thoracic medical-surgical team at the Ambroise Paré-Hartmann Private Hospital Group provides diagnosis and treatment of all thoracic diseases such as:

  • Lung cancer
  • Lung disease (pleural effusion, pneumothorax, pleural tumor, etc.)
  • Diaphragm conditions (hernia, paralysis, etc.)
  • Chest wall surgery (tumor, deformations such as pectus excavatum and carinatum, etc.)
  • Mediastinal conditions (mediastinal tumor, thymoma, intrathoracic goiter, ganglion examination, etc.)

After a complete examination that can by carried out at our facility (chest MRI, bronchoscopy with endobronchial ultrasound sampling and miniprobe, functional and respiratory assessment, etc.) the doctors will discuss your results in a meeting with all of the specialists who are likely to be involved in your care: what we call an Interdisciplinary Consultation Meeting, or ICM. Medical treatment, surgical treatment, or a combination of the two will then be recommended to you.

The surgical team specializes in minimally invasive techniques and can offer, when possible, lung-sparing robotic surgery.
