What is clinical research?
Clinical research includes all scientific research performed in human subjects to gain biological or medical understanding, and follows on from basic research.
The goal of clinical research is to benefit patients by continuously improving our level of understanding. It is therefore performed with patients who volunteer to participate, after having received clear, accurate and complete information.
These studies are always overseen by an independent Ethics Committee.
